Day #5, 2015

“Progress, of the best kind, is comparatively slow. Great results cannot be achieved at once; and we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk, step by step.” ~Samuel Smiles (Scottish author, 1812-1904)

Have you off to a slow, or perhaps non-existent, start on your January writing/editing project? Have you already begun to feel the pangs of discouragement? Do you feel you've lost the race before even entering it? Despair not—you still have nearly four full weeks at your disposal, in which you can whip out a short story, edit a novel, craft a poem, achieve a writing goal.

"Slow and steady wins the race," they say. So push off the starting block and get going. Above all, enjoy the process and journey!
