Writing is a solitary pursuit—that's part of its allure. It's a project over which you have sole control...at least in the early stages, before handing over your beloved words for editing.

Whether you choose to check in with one another daily or weekly, in writing or in person, the occasional prodding and cheering you can offer one another may prove invaluable in getting you just that much further along in your pursuit of seeing your project published.
If nothing else, you'll strengthen or forge a friendship...and who knows, maybe even write about the experience later!
